Sometimes we disagree

In response to dear Mr. Simone, I think we may be at cross purposes in our meanings of rhetoric. I can’t use this misunderstanding to attack him. I can’t use this ‘conversation’ to be intentionally obtuse. I can’t use my vitriolic nature as an excuse.

I must see the nature of this disagreement – with charity. I must understand the intent of his argument – with charity. So I thought to myself, ‘what shall I do?’ Friendship demands no less of me. And I thought to myself, ‘no knife or misunderstanding will cut us apart.’ Should friends keep the same beat, lest divisiveness beat them apart? You see, we have a different theological tradition, I am Catholic . . .

I then decided to examine rhetoric. Clever words, not inane ones, masked my intents. So I have to be obscure to reveal myself. I find frequently the frequency of my thoughts frequents the trivium. And thus, what is rhetoric?

Bonus points if  you can identify: Zeugma, Anaphora, Antistrophe, Aporia, Oxymoron, Praeteritio, Syllepsis, Paranomasia, Personification, or Pleonasm.
